SOP- Fumigation

Objective : To lay down a procedure for fumigation using fogger.
Scope : This procedure is applicable to the production & QC.
Responsibility :
1.                  Operator, Production is responsible to follow this SOP.
2.     Production Chemist/Officer / Head of the Department shall be responsible for the implementation of this SOP.
3.                  QA Officer shall be responsible for compliance of the SOP.

Procedure :
Part A : Preparation of 20% v/v Virosil Solution.
1.                  Take 2 litres of cooled and filtered WFI in SS vessel.
2.                  Add 0.6 Litre of concentrated solution of Virosil in it.
3.                  Make up the volume upto 3 litres with cooled & filtered WFI.
4.                  Fill the prepared 20% v/v solution of Virosil in the tank of fogger.

Part B : Operation of Fogger
  1. Fumigation using fogger shall be done one day before weekly off and holiday after completion of day’s production.
  2. Switch off the AHU before starting the fumigation of the particular area.
  3. Keep the fogger filled with disinfectant on SS stool or trolley in the room.
  4. Switch on the main electric supply.
  5. Adjust the position of fogger.
  6. Keep the spraying level at “Average” position.  The fogger will start and solution will be sprayed in the area.
