What is a tunneled
central line?
A burrowed focal
line is a catheter (a slight cylinder) that is put in a vein for long haul use.
It is most normally put in the neck (inner jugular) yet may likewise be put in
the crotch (femoral), liver (transhepatic), chest (subclavian) or back
(translumbar). The catheter is burrowed under the skin. It has a sleeve
appended to it that enables tissue and skin to develop around it, giving the
line greater security.
